RELIGIOUS EDUCATION REGISTRATION INFORMATION AND INSTRUCTIONS

2011/2012 SCHOOL YEAR

CLASSES AND TIMES

SUNDAY 9:30                         PRE-SCHOOL

TUESDAY 4:15 – 5:30 OR WEDNESDAY 6:30-7:45          

KINDERGARTEN and RELIGIOUS EDUCATION LEVELS 1-5

(Religious Education Levels 1-5 are usually Grades 1-5 in school)

TUESDAY - 6:30 – 8:00         CONFIRMATION LEVELS 1, 2 AND 3

(Confirmation Levels 1, 2 and 3 are usually Grades 6 - 8 in school)

CLASSES START TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 13, 2011

WHO SHOULD ATTEND PARISH RELIGIOIUS EDUCATION (CCD) CLASSES?

All children who attend:                   Public School

                                                            Non-Catholic Christian School

                                                            Non-Catholic Private School

                                                            Home School

WHEN SHOULD I REGISTER MY CHILD FOR RELIGIOIUS EDUCATION (CCD) CLASSES?

The Registration Period will begin on May 1, 2011 and end on May 31, 2011.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

1. The Fee is $35.00 per child, with a $70.00 family maximum

2. If you were registered in the program during the 2010/2011 school year and are registering after May 31, a $15.00 late fee will apply – the fee will be $50.00 per child with an $85.00 family maximum

3. Please make checks payable to ST. EDWARD’S CHURCH

REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS:

1. Children registering for Level 2 (Children receive Reconciliation and Communion during this year) must have completed Level 1Religious Education in a Catholic Parish Religious Education program or a Catholic school

2. Children registering for  the Confirmation Level 3 (typically 8^th grade) must have completed Religious Education  for Confirmation Levels 1 and 2 (typically 6^th and 7^th Grade)

3. The Pre-School Program is for 3, 4 and 5 (those who will turn 5 after September 1, 2011) year old children who are potty trained

4. Children registering for Kindergarten must be 5 by September 1, 2011

HOW DO I REGISTER MY CHILD FOR RELIGIOUS EDUCATION (CCD) CLASSES?

1.      You can register on-line at www.stedwardbowie.org and then send the fee to the church office at the address below.

2.      Fill out a Registration Form and then:

1.      Send it in with your child when he/she comes to class during the next 2 weeks

2.      Place it in the box on the table in the Religious Education Hall (CCD)

3.      Send it to the Church Office:      Saint Edward the Confessor
