Marriage requires at least six months of preparation. After an initial meeting with the pastor, couples are asked to take a Focus inventory and are assigned to a married couple who guide them through a serious of discussions based on the responses to the questionnaire.

Marriage Preparation

    A couple wishing to marry should contact their parish priest or deacon no later than six months prior to the anticipated date of the wedding. The purpose of this period is to involve the couple actively in a process through which they can judge not only their readiness to marry, but also their ability to communicate on vital issues. Preparation time allows the couple to come to a deeper knowledge of each other, of the Church's teaching about married life and family and of the sacrament they will receive, including the reasons for its indissolubility.
